Coloured Cashmere
Cashmere is collected in a variety of natural shades, including a natural white. In the Mongolian steppe, however, white goats are not as common as brown goats in nomadic herds.
To achieve the distinctive palette Mandkhai is known for, we rely on the expertise of our colour creator, who has worked at our factory for many years. She pinpoints the exact shades and undertones for each season, balancing softness, depth and contrast.
In her mini laboratory, she mixes dye colours, dyes, spins and tests the yarns. The chosen tones are then replicated on a larger scale for main production, ensuring consistency across every piece.
Eco Standards
Our dyes are supplied by Huntsman Advanced Materials (Switzerland) GmbH and certified to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), OEKO TEX Standard 100 (LANSOL®) and EU Ecolabel.
Other required textile agents are also supplied by Huntsman Advanced Materials, including detergent for pre treatment, dye fixing for lasting colour, and finishing agents such as flame retardants, optical brighteners, softeners and reactive dyes.
