Mandkhai at her cashmere factory in Mongolia

From Mongolian Steppes to Global Luxury: Mandkhai's Story through CNN

When I launched Mandkhai, I knew I wanted to do things differently and my thought was: What hasn’t been done in cashmere ?

The brand shines a spotlight on the true artisans behind the beauty of cashmere—the people who have nurtured this exquisite fibre for centuries.

Meet Dure, one of Mongolia’s nomadic herders, whose daily life revolves around the goats that produce the world’s finest cashmere. As the sun rises over the Mongolian steppes, Dure carefully combs the goats’ undercoats, collecting the raw fibres that will eventually become the luxurious cashmere you wear.

This meticulous, hand-crafted process is what makes Mandkhai special. While the world celebrates the softness, warmth, and durability of our pieces, I focus on highlighting the people behind the garments—from the herders like Dure to the skilled artisans who bring each design to life.

At Mandkhai, cashmere is more than a luxury—it’s a way of life. My mission is to bring greater appreciation to this ancient tradition while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in cashmere design. Hand embroidery, intricate details, and a deep respect for craftsmanship are at the heart of our creations.

Every Mandkhai piece is sourced and crafted in Mongolia—where the extreme cold makes layers of natural warmth essential. By choosing Mandkhai, you’re supporting an entire ecosystem that values heritage, sustainability, and the human touch.

I didn’t set out to create just another fashion brand.
I set out to honour a way of life, craft something authentic, and elevate the timeless art of cashmere.
